i'm Natalya!

i'm a czech-american artist, collaborator,
& LOVER of life currently located in New York City

i seek to create art that deepens our connection to meaning, reconciliation, and compassion

I grew up in a house full of books and music. My father is a poet, professor, and researcher of forgiveness and genocide. My mother is a musician, psychologist, and servant-leadership coach. From them, I started asking the questions that still guide me: How do words and stories shape our understanding of ourselves? How can we heal and grow through compassion? And how do we hold space for both the light and darkness in our lives?

Originally from Spokane, Washington, I grew up with the river as my sister and the rugged mountains as my steadfast friend. The song of larks and swifts taught me how to listen, how to find and nurture my own voice. Now, in New York City, I am guided by the belief that we are all connected to the wild, untamed forces within—those rivers that run deep and forests that grow within our hearts. Through my work, I strive to help others reconnect to these inner landscapes, fostering a shared journey of growth, resilience, and discovery.

REVIEWS:

Natalya Fisher as The Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma (2019):

"Natalya Fisher is glorious as the Ghost of Christmas Past, sweeping in on the fly rail in a dazzling display of Holiday Cheer. She floats and flies in a rather lengthy scene, and the athleticism she displays is impressive. She makes being strapped to the ceiling look not only easy but rather fun, and with her twinkling voice and angelic costume, she’s a weightless, sparkling spirit."

Natalya Fisher (Ferch) as The Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma (2017)

"Playing the Ghosts of Christmas Past and Present, respectively, Natalya Ferch and Mateja Govich each prove they know how to make a grand entrance. Even better, Ferch manages to exude both whimsy and wistfulness while hanging from a harness high above the stage..."

Natalya Fisher (Ferch) as Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme in Assassins at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma (2017):

"Natalya Ferch plays Lynette ‘Squeaky’ Fromme beautifully.  Fromme was not a part of the Tate/La Bianca murders, yet her attempt on Gerald Ford’s life in September 1975 caused America to relive the horror of the 1969 Helter Skelter events. Ferch’s natural performance of a young woman who could have been someone’s sister is witchery.  Through song and nuance Ferch gives Squeaky substance and empathy.  That makes her journey into unfathomable evil even more horrifying."

Natalya Fisher (Ferch) as Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme in Assassins at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma (2017):

"Sondheim wisely includes many moments of comedy inside the bleak reality of the subject matter, and they are welcomed. Particular comedic shout-outs go to D. Lance Marsh as Samuel Byck and Natalya Ferch as Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme...while neither character was, thankfully, successful in their assassination attempts, the fervor in which they worked to make it happen provides some of the biggest laughs of the show."
